WHAT TO EXPECT

Guests enjoy a 1 hour kayak tour led by expert guides to explore the best parts of Big Lagoon State Park. From calm clear coastal waters to winding salt marshes there’s PLENTY to explore in this protected area. Enjoy the calm waters of this protected wildlife refuge. It is a local secret with some of the best conditions to paddle in the area.

**Kayak tours MAY be mixed with paddle boarders depending on the day and what is booked. This means you will have to wait to launch with us until after we have finished the paddle board lesson (usually 10-15 minutes) before we all go off together for the hour tour. **If you are an experienced paddler and/or are comfortable in the water….we recommend just doing the rental so you can explore at your own pace.** Guides will still be on site/in the water so you can be sure you are safe and have someone watching out for you! ##Please note:
**This is a SLOW paced tour**! Guides will be on paddle boards for a better vantage point to spot and point out wildlife and ease of getting off their paddle craft if guests need a hand. If you have teenagers or are an experienced kayaker you **DO NOT need a guide here**. We would **recommend simply doing a kayak rental instead so you can explore at your own pace while still knowing a guide is nearby!** Also, if you have smaller children they usually dont want to go as far or as long as the tours go, so we would also recommend RENTALS if you are bringing children under 6 or children that you feel may not be ready to sit in a kayak for a full hour. For rentals, we give a mini lesson, help you launch 15 minutes PRIOR to our lessons and tours, and tell you where to go in the park and help you get in and out of the water if needed.

– All rentals are subject to wind and weather conditions. We only offer morning kayaking tours in Big Lagoon State Park or Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge as the winds pick up in the afternoon making it unsafe to paddle.

We are 100% woman owned and have been teaching people to paddle board and kayak since 2014!

If some guests want to kayak and some want to paddle board that is absolutely ok with us!! Simply book each item separately and make sure to pick the same time and location!
